If you are a to-be-bride, chances are that you have been dreaming of your wedding day look(s) since decades. You must also not forget your pre-wedding looks- there is the Sangeet, the Mehendi night and the Cocktail eve, not to forget the all important Reception following the main ceremony. So, all the dresses you will wear to these events are as important as your main bridal dress/sari. Given the power of Social Media and how often your photos will be shared- your bridal attire is even more important. So, why not seek some inspiration from the Awards shows? The Filmfare awards is a night to remember and brides-to-be can seek tons of inspiration in makeup, accessories, hues, silhouettes –the works. 2016 Filmfare Awards were no different-Red seemed to be the popular colour of the evening with A-listers Deepika, Illeana, Raveena and Surveen choosing this dazzling and passionate hue to show off their best features. And boy, did it work in their favour! From shining red floor lenght gowns to shimmering white Saris, here are our favourite picks from the evening.
Deepika chose Ralph&Russo gown and jewelry from Anmol.
Illeana D’Cruz looked stunning in Nachiket Barve creation. Her clutch from Louboutin is impressive and we think it suit any bridal occasion. Surveen wore a red Shivani Awasthi creation. We especially love her shoes!
Bhumi Pednekar’s Manish Malhotra creation is very bridal, don’t you think? So are her jewelry pieces from Gehna and Anmol jewelers. Her golden Judith Lieber clutch matches her Dupatta very well.
Sophie Choudhary is one of the best dressed ladies in B-town. Her Georges Chakra mermaid gown, Louboutin clutch and jewelry by Farah Khan are all dazzling.
Aditi’s Gauri and Nainika gown may not be bridal per se, but we love her subtle makeup, side-swept messy ponytail/braid and long earrings.
Kajol Aggarwal is stunning in this daring low cut Swapnil Shinde gown and we also love her minimalist style.
Shreya is blessed with one of the best figures in the industry and her Gaurav Gupta gown is ideal for the daring bride. The low bun with minimal accessories is also a gorgeous look, we think.
Hmmm, black may not be traditionally worn to Indian weddings, but we really admire the rich embroidery on Huma’s Mayyur Girotra gown. The serpent bracelet by Farah Khan Fine Jewelry is also very stylish.
We love Radhika Apte’s simple diamond necklace and the colour of her Vizyon gown.
Neha Dhupia sure knows how to accessorize though her Gauri and Nainika gown is hardly bridal.
Sonali Bendre puts girls half her age to shame with her beautiful figure and flawless makeup. Her Manish Malhotra gown and side-swept hairstyle is ideal for many pre/post wedding functions.
Raveena’s double stranded Kundan necklace is simply wow!
Sonam Kapoor is always a diva and this Anamika Khanna gown and beautiful emerald necklace by Heeramaneck and Sons suits her very well!
