Today’s Indian bride wants more than just traditional jewellery. She wants to feel like a princess, she wants to feel exquisite and wants jewellery that shows off her personality beautifully. Just like a wedding bond can be timeless, so can jewellery last for generations to come. It’s no surprise then that platinum is winning the hearts and minds of Indian brides all over the country. In order to celebrate a bride’s special day, Evara has launched its special bridal collection that’s special, affordable and priceless.

So, why platinum and then again, why not? Not only is it the rarest metal on earth but when paired with delicate diamonds and stones, Evara platinum bridal jewellery ascends to a completely different level of beauty altogether. And no, you don’t have to worry about whether Evara platinum bridal jewellery will blend in with your wedding saree or gown because the designs are modern and can be worn with just about anything. Here are our Evara platinum bridal jewellery favourites:

Design 1

evara platinum bridal jewellerySoft drops beautifully complement the necklace. We recommend this set for brides who want jewellery that isn’t loud but which will stand apart and yes, it can be worn elegantly at the reception as well.

For the bride who wants her Evara platinum bridal jewellery to speak a thousand words, we recommend pairing this gorgeous set with a lehenga in a deep shade. The three strands of platinum merge to form a cusp, which is reminiscent of a groom holding his bride’s hand forever.

Design 4

As a bride gets wedded, she also embarks on a new journey. Note the way the platinum strands merge together to form a loop signifying the merging of the old and the new. What adds to the uniqueness is that each part of this Evara platinum bridal jewellery necklace has a different design.

Design 5

When you’re wearing a strapless or a low-neck gown at the reception, wear this jewellery set that’s simply breath taking. At first sight, it looks rather heavy, but is actually quite light to wear and its modern net inspired design is without a doubt pretty. Mini diamonds add to its glamour.

Design 6

The bride was wearing a deep ruby red saree and as she sat before the sacred fire, this Evara platinum bridal jewellery set simply added to her radiance. Is that bride you?

7 Wedding Accessories Rules A Bride Should Know About

$

0

Wedding accessories can either make a bridal look or break it. While it’s easy to go over the top and grab the first designer necklace that you spot at a retail jewellery store, it’s much more difficult to pick the perfect wedding accessories that make you and your dress look good. Striking a pose of elegance really isn’t that simple but it isn’t all that tough either! We break down a few rules that you should remember when picking up your wedding accessories for the Big Day:

If jewellery isn’t your thing, then there is absolutely no harm in going with just one signature piece around your neck. In fact, that’s the option that most modern brides prefer to go with and moreover, it’s also classy to wear a heirloom piece that means something to you. It could be a gift from your grandparents or a piece of jewellery that’s been in your family for generations- but wear it with pride!

wedding accessories

Some brides want an all-out look and if you fall in that category, then we suggest looking at your wedding accessories as a serious investment that will last you for years. If you want a necklace set or even a pair of ear-rings to be that one statement piece that everybody notices about you, then keep the rest of your ensemble simple or the overall effect will be just too gaudy to take in.

wedding accessories

Long hair and Indian girls go almost hand in hand but so what if you have always loved your blunt cut or wearing your hair even shorter? There’s no rule that says that brides with pixie or tomboy cuts can’t look glam on their special day. We suggest picking up cute hairclips with crystal stones, a tiara or even using colourful hair pieces as long as they make you look and feel good.

We’re yet to meet a lady who doesn’t like shoes! Shoes, believe it or not, are just as important a wedding accessory as the crystal bracelet you’re planning to wear on your special day. Wear footwear that keeps your feet smiling and yet which stands out. Avoid going for shoes or sandals that are the same colour as your ensemble.

It’s great if you’ve decided to have your wedding reception in a hall that keeps you and your guests protected from the elements, but if you’re planning to have a wedding that’s being held outdoors- don’t forget to dress up keeping the weather in mind. If it’s cold, go for a wrap or a shrug that looks feminine and which will keep you warm. The last thing you’d want is to catch a cold!

Get inspired by real bridal looks on our website and put together a look that brings out the best of your personality. Don’t get too carried away by trends as what’s in fashion may not necessarily suit you. We suggest experimenting around with a few wedding accessories before settling on the ones that you will eventually wear.

Planned a wedding theme already? Then why not try and see if you can wear your wedding accessories accordingly. For example, a Mughal inspired wedding theme would mean plenty of heavy jewellery, hair ornaments and finger rings.

Simple Makeup Tutorial For Indian Girls: Get Decked Up For Navratri And Diwali With These Steps

$
0
0

Today we are presenting a simple makeup tutorial for beginners. The products described here are suitable for wheatish to dusky complexion. You may change them according to your skin tone and skin type.

1. Start with a clean face

Cleanse the skin with a suitable cleanser made for your skin type. Pat dry the skin.

2. Use foundation

For wheatish to fair skin tone, you can use liquid foundation from any top brand. We recommend liquid foundation- but feel free to choose powder or mineral foundation based on availability. Custom cover drops G60 is suitable for medium complexion. To use: add 4-5 drops of the liquid foundation in your favorite moisturizer and blend evenly. Next, use a custom blender brush to dab the foundation-moisturizer mixture all over the face. Pay special attention to blemishes, dark circles and spots.

3. For the eyes and eyebrows

  • Use any quality brow pomade on the eyebrows. Go for a shade like ash brown or dark brown. Fill in the brows with the pomade where the hair is sparse.
  • We recommend buying an eye-makeup palette like Makeup Revolution-Welcome to Pleasuredome. Before you start the eye makeup, use pressed powder all over the eyelids to enable the eye makeup to last longer. Use shimmery brown colour all over the eyelids. Now use a shimmering grey just above the tear line where the eyelashes start. Blend with the shimmery brown to give a smokey eye effect. Alternatively, you can use a liquid or gel liner. If you are not using liners, make sure you diffuse the eye-shadow a bit for a smokey effect.
  • For the lower lash line, add a pop of colour like purple or silver starting from outer lower lash line and moving inwards. Again, alternatively, you may simply use liquid or gel liner.
  • Apply the mascara (La Roche extension mascara) on both eyelashes (lower and upper) by curling them first.

4. Applying a Concealer

Use a concealer under the eyes to cover up under eye dark circles. Also apply the concealer on the triangular area under the eyes, but not the cheekbones, to highlight this region. You may use a brush to apply the concealer. Do not forget to apply the concealer on the bridge of the nose, center of the forehead and also under the cheekbones.

5. Contouring

Use MAC contouring NW 55 using a thin brush on under the cheekbones, along the sides of the nose all the way up to the brow, under the lower lip, beneath the hair line, along the sides of the neck, and across the jawline. Blend the contour lines with a medium brush using upward strokes.

6. Use blended powder to set the makeup

Loose blended powder will help you set the makeup so it stays for a longer time. Use a sponge to lightly dab the powder on the skin where it is the oiliest (nose, forehead etc). We recommend Clinique Blended powder Number 03.

7. Blush and bronzer

Use Makeup Revolution Blush, Bronze and Brightening palette. Apply the lightest tone in this palette on the cheekbones, and the forehead. Apply the matte blush on the apples of the cheeks. Finish with the highlighter from Makeup Revolution-Pro Illuminate. Use the warm toned highlighter under the brows and on the cheeks.

8. Lips

Use a lip liner by L’Oreal and lipstick by Mac-Diva which is a deep wine red shade suitable for the festival look. Outline the lips and then fill in the lipstick colour. For more details on how to apply lipstick, visit this article.

And that’s it! You are done. Wear a pair of dangling earrings, bangles, necklace along with a traditional dress or Sari. Accessorize with a clutch and high heels and you are ready to party!

8 Types Of Bottom Wear For The Indian Bridal Outfits

As a bride to be, you will need to wear several different outfits for various occasions. You will likely be attending many pre and post wedding dinners and needless to say that you’d want to look stylish on all these occasions. The kurtis and anarkali suits are classy yet comfortable and you can wear them all year round. You simply cannot go wrong with these styles, no matter what the occasion may be. However, if you are bored of wearing the same old chudidar to pair up with the Kurtis, then you are going to love the stylish touch these different styles of bottom wear can add to your regular bridal kurti.

Classic Chudidar

different types of bottom wear for Indian brides to be

Image: FashionWebz

The chudidar is the go-to traditional style which can be worn under all kinds of kurtis or anarkalis. Every girl should have black, white and golden chudidars or leggings in her closet. These colours compliment several other colours, so you will always have something to depend on. Avoid wearing black on festive or bridal occasions.

Palazzo Pants

The palazzo pants are very much in vogue and who says a bride cannot wear them? They are elegant, feminine and stylish and many Pakistani bridal designers have come up with gorgeous bridal palazzos which can be adapted for Indian weddings as well.

Sharara and Gharara

different bridal bottom wear for Indian bridal kurtis

Both these styles are inspired by Pakistani bridal wear as well. The Sharara consists of loose pleated trousers; modern brides to be cannot go wrong with this style for their reception, mehendi or Sangeet ceremony. Many Bollywood movies have depicted this style as well.

Alternatively, you can also choose a gharara- the difference between sharara and gharara is that the latter is fitted above the knees whereas the sharara is the bifurcated version that falls straight and looks more like a skirt.

Cigarette Pants

This is a trendy style made popular by Hollywood actors like Audrey Hepburn. The cigarette pants consist of three-quarter length bottom wear which falls down straight to give a slimmer look. Ideally the pants come up to the calves and you could have a bit of a slit on either side.

 Dhoti Style Bottom Wear

Bridal dhoti style wedding suits

This is a traditional style which women can wear for many occasions for a ‘hatke’ look. This style is especially popular for summer weddings as the cool airy and loose fabrics prevents one from sweating. Opt for a short kurti with this style.

Patiala

different bridal bottom wear styles for Indian bridal kurtis

This style originated from a city in Punjab by the same name. These loose fitting pants are quite similar to the Dhoti style described above and are also popular for Indian summer weddings. They especially help conceal broad hips and thighs.

Bridal Skirts

A heavily embroidered kurti with a plain skirt or vice a versa; there are hundreds of ways in which you can pair up a bridal skirt with a bridal kurti. You can even go for hip length kurti or for knee-length ones.

Wedding signages are an often forgotten piece of wedding décor at many weddings across the country. And yet, if the words or illustrations are funny and unusual, they are all that your wedding party needs to pep things up. Whether, it’s to get your guests in the party mood or just direct them to the wedding venue itself, we suggest thinking out of the box and adding a dash of humour and thought to your wedding signages. Believe it or not, your guests are more than likely to remember what the signages said than little details from the wedding ceremony itself.

Want to let your guests know that the bar is open? We cant think of better wedding signages to let them know that they’re welcome to have a great time and to enjoy themselves

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, grandson of legendary singer Mukesh got engaged to Rukmini Sahay, an aviation professional. The engagement took place at a Juhu hotel on the occasion of Dusshera. Neil Nitin chose to go the arranged marriage way and the couple was introduced to each other by their parents. The wedding ceremony will take place early next year, we hear, and we hope to bring you those pics as soon as we get our hands on them.

Neil Nitin Mukesh and Rukmini Sahay engagement photos

Neil’s parents are already impressed with Rukmini and her simplicity and upbringing. Said proud father-in-law-to be Nitin Mukesh: “Neil had left the decision of choosing his soulmate to us-he is traditional and old school that way and believes in the institution of marriage. The family has known Rukmini for years and we feel there couldn’t have been a better match for him. Neil and Rukmini compliment each other as they have been brought up with the same simplicity and values.”

Neil Nitin Mukesh and Rukmini Sahay engagement photos

Only close friends and family members were in attendance on the evening. We hear Neil has recently purchased an apartment in Andheri which he is designing himself.

Neil chose a red and black sherwani for the evening while his beautiful fiance wore a blue and pink embellished lehenga. She accessorized her look with Jasmine flowers, and kundan necklace, earrings and maang teeka. These images above were posted by some of their friends and family members who were in attendance. Twitter exploded after hearing about the handsome actor’s engagement, wishing the couple the best for their future together. Neil is often teased for his use of three names, so many tweets were based around that.

We wish the couple a very happy future together!

6 Wedding Gifts A Couple Does Not Want!

$

Image: The Photo Diary

Choosing wedding gifts can be a real challenge. But, even greater is the challenge a couple goes through when opening those gifts! After all; no one wants 10 rice cookers, 10 toasters and likes. It could be due to the lack of time or taste or some unspoken rule-book of wedding gifting that such gifts invariably find their way to a wedding. Ultimately though; they end up in the list of unused gifts. Now, you certainly don’t want that to happen to your wedding gift. To help ensure you don’t pick any of those unwanted gift items for upcoming weddings, we have put together an edit of gifts a couple does not want:

Wedding Gifts A Couple Doesn’t Want

1. Dinner Set

While it is absolutely perfect to receive beautiful dinner sets as your wedding gifts, it might become a headache if one receives 20 sets of these with 5 being the exact model. Now, who would want to feel like some crockery items dealer? So, if you don’t want to put your friends in such a situation, try not to gift them dinner sets as long as you are not thinking of designer ones.

wedding gifts

2. Art Pieces

The fake Mona Lisa or the not-so-tasteful mural you have come across at a gift shop that comes within your budget too does not make an exceptional gift option, to be honest. Moreover, if the couple has a very fine taste in the matters of art, maybe, they will expect something that will match those levels. To be on safe side, try not to go for art pieces unless you are aware of their taste of them.

3. Dress Material

While the dress materials for shirt or trousers are not going to give the groom a wardrobe makeover, the six yard apparel i.e. saree will not make the bride stop buying saree for the next one year or two. Instead, in all probability, such wedding gifts are soon going to be reused as gift to another wedding or, maybe, birthday.

wedding gifts

4. Kitchen Appliances

While there is no doubt about your noble intention of helping the newlyweds set up their cozy little kitchen, try and see the situation from their point of view. Every Indian couple receives 5 or 6 juicers, toasters and pressure cookers. Now, who would want that? Try to avoid gifting such obvious kitchen appliances. Rather take the time and effort to find out what appliances the couple need. If not, gift them a gift card which they can use to buy appliances of their choice.

5. Clocks

Think about it. How many wall and table clocks does your place need? 5? 10? Now, imagine receiving some 20-25 clocks! After all, no one would want to turn their house into a clock museum.

6. Upholstery Sets

So, you see a beautiful sofa cover set with amazing handmade stitch work or, maybe, a trendy cushion cover set or just a blanket and you know one wedding gift is sorted already. Hold on! Maybe, the couple has a different plan for decorating their interior that doesn’t match yours.

And that concludes our list of items a couple does not want. Know of any other? Let us know in comments below.

What’s the best way to treat your foreign wedding guests to a trip that combines being a part of wedding festivities as well as a tour of India? Well, you could opt for a destination wedding but that would mean seeing only one specific city or a place, and that’s kind of limiting in a way. So, what’s the next best option if you have plenty of money to spare and all you want to do is to treat your guests to a memorable holiday that they won’t forget anytime soon?

Welcome aboard the Maharajas Express which can be yours for 8 whole days at a cost of only Rs 5.5 crore!

So, why should you consider getting married aboard the Maharajas Express when you may just as well have a beach wedding in Goa at a mere fraction of that cost? Well, for starters, there are 24 coaches in total and these have 20 deluxe cabins, 18 junior suites, four premium suites and 1 Presidential suite. Besides that, you’ll enjoy:

Exclusivity

Think about it! It’ll make for a fantastic story to tell your kids someday and why go with what’s trending when you have a much more exclusive option at hand? Imagine this- you could also get written about in the papers and earn your many minutes of fame. After all, how many yet to be married couples can afford to think nothing of a wedding that’ll set them back by a few crores?

Privacy

Only 88 passengers are allowed on board the Maharajas Express, so if your ideal wedding included a small guest list, then now you have a great reason to let guests know why they weren’t invited in the first place. With just 88 passengers allowed (think of your photographer and other people who will be coming with you), privacy gets top priority here.

Luxury Tour

Your guests and you are in for an awesome sightseeing tour which covers some beautiful destinations in North India. The Heritage of India tour begins from Mumbai and covers Ajanta, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Ranthambore and Agra before reaching Delhi. If you would like to travel by taking a different route on board the Maharajas Express, then the authorities would be more than happy to oblige.

Great Service

Luxury trains such as the Maharajas Express are famed for their great service, food and comfort. You can actually have a non-stop wedding party for 8 days without worrying about the quality of food, cutlery and a 100 other details that wedding planners often have to deal with. Besides, you get to spend so much of quality time with your loved ones uninterrupted.

So, is it worth having a wedding on wheels? We certainly think so. Indian weddings easily run into crores (no wonder they’re called big, fat ceremonies) but the winning combination of a tour merged with wedding festivities seems to be an opportunity that’s too good to pass up.

From the moment your partner asks “will you?” to the moment you both say “I do” – the planning process in between that time can often seem like a long, confusing road of lehengas, jewelry and a myriad of vendors that you didn’t even know you needed. Which is why – infographics are now going to be your best friend. Take a look at this yearly planner and keep reading to find out the first steps in planning the happiest days of your life.

Get your Budget in Check
This is absolutely the most important (and often the most difficult) factor that you need to plan! Sit down with your partner, order some takeout and start crunching the numbers! Make sure if you have family members contributing to the wedding that you sit down with them first and get those figures before planning your own.

Pick your Date(s)
Give yourself plenty of time for preparation when picking a date. Make sure it’s at least a year in advance, you do not want to be stressing because of a short time frame. Also make note on whether you want to consult an almanac when finalizing a date.

There are also going to be quite a few events associated with your celebration. Do you want to have an engagement party, haldi, mehendi, sangeet in addition to the wedding and reception? Now is a good time to decide.

Choose Your Guests
For a traditional Indian wedding – you could be looking at up to hundreds of guests from your friends to close family, extended family, their extended family… the list could go on! It’s for this reason that you need to be completely organized, ladies. We’d recommend creating a spreadsheet or google doc where you can keep track of all of your information. Think about putting the following info in your spreadsheet:
Guest Family, Number of people invited, Address, Email Address, Phone Number, Events invited for, Out of Town?, Save-the-Date sent?, Invitation Sent?, Gift received, Thank You Card Sent?

Choose your Tribe
Your bridal party will be your most important crew during this time. Make sure you select a team that are dear to you and aren’t difficult! You’ll be under a lot of stress the next few months and you’ll need your girls to rely on for not only moral support (this one’s very important) but also to do tasks.

Get Dreaming
Now is when you can start doing the fun stuff! Start dreaming up a colour palette and theme and search for inspiration everywhere. Just make sure you keep your budget in mind when you start the searching process. You don’t want any shattered hearts when you realize that the decor arrangement you’ve been eyeing is completely out of your budget.

Top Pre-Wedding Customs In North Indian Weddings

India is a land of traditions and customs and that’s probably one reason why there’s a ceremony to herald all auspicious occasions. A North Indian wedding is a beautiful ceremony to witness and there are many smaller ceremonies that are held before the main ceremony. Here is a peek into the different pre-wedding customs that are part of a North Indian wedding:

Mangni/Sagai

The Sagai or engagement can take place days or even months before the actual wedding. Usually, the sagai is held in the presence of family members, friend and other relatives. Rings and garlands are exchanged and gifts of sweets, dry fruits and other sweetmeats are exchanged. Sometimes, gifts of jewellery and other luxury items may also be gifted to the bride to be and the bridegroom to be by the elders. Traditionally speaking, the engagement ceremony is always held at the bridegroom’s house. Today however, a sagai has become a much more elaborate affair and many guests who may not be invited to the wedding are asked to be present at this pre-wedding custom ceremony. The bride is usually dressed in a bright coloured saree or in a lehenga and the bridegroom usually wears a kurta pyjama or a sherwani.

Sangeet

pre-wedding custom

The sangeet ceremony is usually observed at the bride’s house and is a function at which only other women are invited. The idea of conducting a sangeet before the wedding was to give the women a chance to get together before the bride left for her in-laws house after marriage. Sangeet’s are always fun where one gets dressed in the best and there’s plenty of singing, dancing and merry making involved. Refreshments which include a variety of sweets and other snacks are served. The bridegroom’s family is usually not invited for the sangeet although these days, a commons sangeet may be held for both the respective families. Think of it as the perfect place for the bride to be to let her hair down with loved ones and friends, it’s no wonder that many brides look forward to this fun pre-wedding customs.

Haldi

Mehndi

Just like the other pre-wedding customs, this ceremony too takes place just before the wedding and the bride, according to tradition doesn’t step out of the house after the ceremony is over. The mehendi function is organised by the family members and is usually a private affair which is held in the presence of just a few friends and relatives. Turmeric and sandalwood paste is applied to the bride’s face, hands and feet by the elders, for a natural glow. Mehendi is usually applied on the hands of most of the women who attend the ceremony although the best design is reserved only for the bride. Folklore has it that the darker the shade of the mehndi, the longer a bride’s husband would love her. In some families, until the mehndi has completely faded away from the bride’s hands, she is not allowed to take up any marital duties in her in-laws house.

Ask The Expert: “What Makeup Colours Will Suit My Wheatish Complexion?” Farah Charania Answers

$

We teamed up with bridal makeup artist Farah Charania, founder of Farah Charania Makeovers to help brides answer some common questions that come to mind. Get important bridal makeup and hair tips from Farah:

1) What makeup colours suit the wheatish complexion the best? What are the best lipstick colours for this complexion?

When it comes to selecting the right color for a wheatish complexion, it is very important to keep the following things in mind, epecially when selecting the foundation – the skin type/ the skin texture as well as most importantly the skin shade. Having a wheatish skin tone means that you have to make sure you choose a foundation which is closest to that skin tone. Going a shade up or down is okay, but a few shades up or down can turn you ghostly or grey.Remember: your beauty will outshine when you are comfortable in your own skin. Then, even a simple touch of base, eye-liner and lipstick will do wonders. In terms of lipstick for wheatish skin tones, it is best if you opt for plum, mauve, coral or brown shades; do avoid using orange or light pink shades as they don’t blend well with wheatish skin.

2) What are some of the best makeup products for the wedding day?

Since we live in a climate which is quiet humid, the best options would be to opt for HD Waterproof makeup -so the chances of your makeup getting washed off or breaking down during the event will minimize and you can enjoy your wedding stress free. The best available products in this range are from Kryolan/Bobbi Brown/ Mac/ Nars. These days, Silicone based makeup is a huge trend – it is like a thin sheet of makeup on the skin which doesn’t penetrate is.. so brides with sensitive skin can be assured that their makeup wont damage their skin, clog pores or lead to any kind of irritation.

3) What is the average cost of wedding makeup artist in India, specifically Mumbai? What should I look for in my makeup artist?

The average cost of Wedding Makeup Artist is from 18000 INR and you can be assured of the best services in the HD Package and airbrush makeovers.
The following points needs to be considered while you hire your makeup artist-
  •   Years of Experience
  •   Client Feedback.
  •  Package range
  •  Bridal Pics before and after
  • Thorough discussion on your expectations-is the professional willing to take time to discuss your concerns?
  • Things provided in trial session. (I have had many  brides telling me that for trial sessions they just got a basic outline of what could be done with no detailed discussion or actual work).
  • Lehenga/ sarees draping service.

4) Would you advise an Indian bride to do her bridal makeup at home? If yes, what are the typical steps?

Yes, for many small events at home, I would suggest her to do her basic makeup and styling with help from her best friends or sisters. However, for the main bridal day, I would surely recommend she hire a professional makeup artist and hair stylist and just relax for the day. A professional will know what her problem areas are and cover those up for her so she can be happy and confident knowing she is looking her very best. That being said, I always recommend that every girl knows some basic DIY makeup steps- I will be soon launching some videos on how to do engagement makeup and styling at home or bridal makeup and styling at home. Here are a few standard steps that one needs to follow –
Moisturize – based on your skin type you have to moisturize your skin (gel based for oily skin and oil based for dry skin).
Use a Primer – apply a fine layer of primer on your skin as that helps make your makeup last longer and also acts as a fine barrier between your skin and makeup to protect your pores from getting clogged.
Apply Concealer – conceal the dark spots or shadows on your face using an orange color generally around under eyes corner of nose and lips and chin and on the pimples, if you have any. Similarly, if you have redness on your skin you need to cut it out with a green shade of concealer.
Use a Foundation – pick the right shade for the foundation and apply it evenly all over the face (while selecting the shade see to it that you check the same on your wrist or the neck)
Set with a loose powder – set the foundation with a loose powder as it can help in keeping the makeup longer.
Apply an eye shadow – apply the eye base and work your way through with nude eyes or smokey eyes. Finish off the same with the eyeliner and mascara.
Contour and highlights – contour your face with the bronzer and highlight your cheek bones. Apply the blush complimenting the lip shade you have used and voila you are done!
Do not forget to finish off with a makeup fixing spray.

5) What colours do you use for eye makeup for dark skin tones?

Black Eye liners are best for those with darker skin tone. I prefer using shimmery colors as they look great with dark skin stone; the best colours in eye shadow for dark skin tones are bronze, gold, copper, emerald greens, sapphire blue, grays and metallic shades. Smokey eyes with shimmers  look amazing on such complexions.

6) How much does an average wedding hair and wedding makeup trial cost?

The average trial cost for Wedding Hair & Makeup is 20% of the official Bridal Package Price. However, in case of many looks for the bride i.e. the Bridal / Reception / Sangeet -then the bride can ask for complimentary trial session. On an average your makeup artist must be willing to give you 60 mins to 120 mins for the discussion and trial.

Boudoir Photography- The Sexy Shoot Is Here!

There’s something mysterious about boudoir photography that’s making quiet waves all across the country. In the West, the concept of boudoir photography involves shooting racy photos mostly by the bride, tons of suggestive gestures and plenty of lace for good effect. In India, however, boudoir photography isn’t just about a bride and her many moods. Couples are all for replacing the quirky pre- wedding photography session with the sexier boudoir photo shoot instead.

So, what can you expect from a boudoir photography session? Well, for starters, you don’t have to worry about being photographed in a crowd because such sessions only take place in utmost privacy. In case you want your partner to feature along with you, then it will just be your photographer, your groom and you. Family members are a definite no-no. So, in case you’re planning to have your own steamy boudoir photography session, here are a few tips:

boudoir photography

Image: Wasio Photography

Think of this photoshoot as the perfect time to really let your hair down with your man. No inhibitions, just plenty of fun and special moments that will be shot in private.

Yes, you can have a theme too. In fact, vintage themes like The Great Gatsby and steamier themes like 50 Shades of Grey are immensely popular. But remember, the camera doesn’t lie and only you know what you will and won’t be comfortable with. If involving S & M is way out of your league, you have every right to say so.

WE are all pretty conscious about our bodies but when you’re clicking such intimate snaps, your belly fat and other jiggly bits should be the last thing on your mind. Every woman is sexy irrespective of skin tone, colour, size and shape. So, just pout and bring out the hidden goddess in you.

Want to add more drama to each photo? How about getting some props as well? You’ll find lots of naughty add-ons like feathers, quills, pillows, sequins, body glitter, leather accessories and even edible body paints that come in a variety of flavours. Too racy for you? No problem, even harmless props like masks can be lots of fun.

Yes, talking to your partner about what the two of you are comfortable with is the trick to getting the best out of your boudoir photo session. When the two of you put your heads together to plan which pose is likely to look the best, it’s also a wonderful bonding experience.

At the end of the day, your photographer knows what’s best and what to avoid. So, feel free to talk to him or her before commencing the photo session. And yes, we suggest going with any tips your photographer may give you.

7 Of The Coolest Hairstyles For Grooms Inspired By Bollywood Hotshots

Today we have something special for our grooms. We have listed down 7 of the coolest hairstyles which are inspired by none other than your favourite Bollywood stars.

Before we do so, here’s some tips on basic hair care for grooms to be:

  • Cut your hair every 3-4 weeks. If you keep your style longer, wait no more than 4-6 weeks to get a haircut. Find a great stylist. If you do not already have one-seek referrals.
  • Know your hair texture. Google images of film stars having the same texture. Then, gather ideas from different styles they have portrayed.
  • Do not over-wash! Shampoo with tea tree shampoo every 3 days depending on how oily it gets. Do not forget the conditioner. If you have dandruff, use a good quality anti dandruff shampoo.
  • Eat healthy- Take care of your skin, hair and nails. Make sure you get biotin, zinc, iron and protein through your diet-else go in for supplements.
  • For men with long ears, the tip is to leave hair longer round the sides to take attention away from the ears. Longer haircuts also suit men having large ears.
  • Choose the right styling product-If you have fine hair, avoid ‘wet’ products that will make the hair flatter by making it stick to the scalp. Choose clay based products or a volumizing foam. You can also apply hair powder to the roots to increase effects and lock in the volume.

Here are 7 coolest hairstyles for grooms
